Where to stay in Sapa
Sapa hotels & accommodations
We experienced some of the best Vietnamese accommodations and hospitality during our trip to Sapa. Our plan was to book three different hotels in several different areas around Sapa. First night in Sapa stayed at Pao’s. . . second night at another more rustic hotel. . . third night – Back to Pao’s! Front office manager (Mr. Thang) – went out of his way to make our st...
Amazing hotel, staff are exceptional, food delicious and nothing to complain about....we did have trouble getting high volume of water in shower to a comfortable temperature...but hey!! Dont miss this hotel in Sapa..and check Essence Hotels in Hanoi..same group for a good experience
Nice 5 star hotel in Sapa. Very clean and tidy. Nice view of the mountain specially when partially cloudy. Staff are extremely helpful. May be I should put the comment for the tour. The tour is booked from the hotel for a full day private tour 43$ per person. The tour stated 9.15 am , lunch stated at 1.25 pm. Then the tour ended after lunch about 2.15.pm. With ...
We stayed 2 nights at Sapa Horizon Hotel. They were previously named as Sapa Paradise View Hotel but renamed as Sapa Horizon Hotel after their renovation. Our initial choice was another hotel nearer the lake. However, as that hotel did not offer non-smoking room on non-smoking floor, we chose to stay with Sapa Horizon Hotel instead. Since both of us have sinus, this is...
We spend 2 nights in Sapa town before going to Topas Eco Lodge an what a difference. Weather even seemed clearer here which means alot in this area. The view in Sapa (when clear) was great, this place was overwhelming. The location is simply unique as the resort is designed to get the best out of it all. We had some amazing lunch at their outdoor terrace surrounded by ...
We were welcomed with such warmth and friendliness from Emma. It was a rainy cool day in Sapa and the home brewed cinnamon tea was awesome. This is available to drink 24/7!She quickly settled us in to our amazing room with a mountain and city view. The room was larger than most that we have stayed in in Vietnam. There is plenty of storage space. The bed was super comfy...
This is the first time travel in Sapa, and I never stay any other hotels in Sapa, but I definitly say that Sapa diamond hotel is the best hotel in Sapa. I stayed in mountain view room. The view was fantasitc. Room was clean (but there are several dead moth in the balcony.). I stayed in 10th floor. In the evening, there was some noise from upstair cafe (droping and drag...
A group of 5 young ladies from HCM that were very lucky to find this new hotel in Sapa. Even though we stayed only 1 night but we could not be more pleased with the service, special thanks to ms Nhàn and mr Trung (both work at front office) that not only upgraded our rooms for free but also gave us alot of good tips during our visit in Sapa. The facilities are all bran...
My family (two young toddlers and my wife) and I spent two nights at Amazing Hotel in Sapa on 21st and 22nd of Sept 2018. I can only warmly recommend this hotel. Hotel is super clean (it is a 4 stars), good facilities (they have a swimming pool on the roof-top with an amazing view over the mountain), staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast is good, location is very c...
About nearly 2km far from the city center - the cathedral of sapa, but this hotel has surprised us a lot. Nothing different from the photos, it's even better in reality. With Helpful staff, beautiful and clean room with mountain view, this might be one of the best 3-star hotels in town, awesome quality with the price. Also, nice breakfast! We had absolutely enjoyed 3 d...
1) View from rooms: Their weakest link, but still not bad. Hotels near the church potentially have more breathtaking ones. 2) Guest welfare: They ain't an NPO but they could have imposed some extra charges. Sapa guests typically turn up at breakfast time. Reception put in effort to allow earlier check-in soonest. Other hotels in Sapa I encountered tend to give prefer...
- Excellent location: few walks to Sapa Station - train from town to Fansipan cable station by Sun group, also the center ancient church. Nearby a lot of restaurants, coffee shop, souvenir shop, foot massage... we tried H'Mong BBQ restaurant (same group of recommend Sapa Lotus), very delicious food there. Around 1-2 km to the lake and new Sapa market. If you travel by ...
It was a wonderful view even if a lot of fog with bad weather during i was in Sapa. There is clean and good condition with beautiful interior in the room. However, there was so cold to stay during winter season, because there was composed of mezzanine floor with high ceiling. Therefore, there is not enough heating even with fireplace on the ground floor and a small r...
We initially booked 2 nights in this hotel through Agoda with the intention of probably moving elsewhere once we had a chance to survey all accommodation options in Sapa on the ground. As it transpired, we spent our entire 8 days in Sapa at this hotel. The biggest plus are the staff. They are helpful, honest and fair - rare commodities in Vietnam. Also, the hotel itsel...
Located at a short walk away from the city centre, lies a clean and cosy Sapa Dragon Hotel. The service was great, and all the staff were earnest in providing us with the best service and assisting us with any issues we may have. Special mention and thanks to Ainh, who consistently went out of his way to help my friends and I with everything. We stayed @ the 3 person r...
Wonderful hotel in beautiful Sapa. It is in the best part of town: central, but still quiet. And if you stay on the backside of the building you will be treated with the most magnificent view over the valley (especially amazing at sunrise). Very cosy, light wood interior design. Reminiscent of Alpine or Scandinavian mountain cabins. Really the only complaint I have i...
We (group of four) were staying at Eden Boutique Hotel during our visit to Sapa in September 2018. The journey from Hanoi to Sapa took 5-half hours drive on the road (due to land slide at some parts of the road to Sapa). On our arrival to the Hotel at around 6.30pm, the Hotel front-desk took our passports and immediately check us in, knowing that we were tired after a ...
First of all, you HAVE to stay here if you are ever in Sapa. The view is magnificent. We did not even venture to the town cause, how could we? With such a wonderful view. I went for a massage at the hotel and i love it! It is definitely one of the best massage i had. The owner is right, 60 mins is definitely not enough. We unfortunately had to change our timing to ...
I stayed at Victoria Sapa Resort & Spa for 4 days 3 nights. The hotel is very well-furnished, with a gym and indoor pool. The hotel breakfast is good with quite a spread every morning. There is a pool table within hotel compound to keep you entertained if you are bored at night. Your towels get changed twice a day as it is hard to dry the hotel due to the cool weather ...
I'm at a loss for words at how amazing my stay was at Sapa Relax Hotel & Spa. The hotel is relatively new and my girlfriend and I took a bit of a risk booking a room here. We were not disappointed! The accommodations were very clean, beautiful, and modern. The complimentary breakfast was delicious (not mediocre like many other hotels in Vietnam). The staff was incredib...
The hotel has professional service in the way they nicely arranged a room at high floor per our request and sent a confirmation email for our information in advance. The room is exactly the same as the photos with excellent view over the hills. One plus side is the sitting area which is well positioned with a view:) The hotel is clean and all the equipments function we...
The hotel can be easily seen. Location is perfect in Sapa! It is very near to fansipan cable car station with less than 10 minutes walking distance. There are many restaurants and cafes located around the hotel. So we don't need to worry about our meals at all. Check in process was smooth. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Staffs were very friendly. We have b...
Very warm welcome by Mr.Nam, he was very accommodating. He suggested us to do trekking in local areas of Sapa which was very nice. We could walk into the rice fields and got in touch with local villagers. Also he recommended us nice food and other interesting places in Sapa. We also got room uograded for free! The views are amazing and the room is so comfortable and cl...
Our room is on fourth floor with private balcony so we can clearly see Muong Hoa valley and Fansipan mountain, The room is big with twin bed .. that is very comfortable.. . the bathroom is modern and convenient for using with bathstub... Good basic facilities very comfortable large King bed in a fabulous location walking distance to cable car entrance, fabulous restaurants. The management here are committed to employing locals who may not be as experienced but good on them for supporting the community. Sapa sisters trekking are just near the hotel - we booked a great private trek with them which was. A...
I travelled for 2D1N to Sapa, and I made a right decision to spend the only night in Sapa Eco-home. We went there for honeymoon and i stayed in the Butterfly Bungalow. I love the room, it has mosquito net, and perfect balcony with beanbags. Their service is amazing! They also provide service to rent motorbike, and trekking tour. Breakfast is great. I just love how help...
We had the best stay at this hotel in Sapa. My main reason for picking it was so we'd be away from the noise of the main town of Sapa and as this hotel is right on the outskirts it definitely delivered. The scenery is incredible overall but the views from the rooms is beautiful. If the day is foggy well there is nothing you can do but on sunny days...Wow. Breakfast was...
Cheap places to stay in Sapa
In the negative side. The door wasnt able to be locked when you left the building. The fan didnt work. Toiletdoor wasnt able to be closed fully. No kettle in the room as advertised. In the posititive side. The staff is great. They speak english. Its a quiet and safe location about 30-40 min ride from Sapa. They have a little puppy dog (Brian) that wanna play with you...
Stunning homestay is located in the village, about 10 kilometers from the Sapa city centre. We were walking there for about 4 hours with many stops to take a photo. It was beautiful beginning of our stay in the mountains. The family is super friendly, welcoming and helpful. They offer very good food and drinks at reasonable prices. During the rain time, you can play ta...
I can't say enough how much I enjoyed my stay here. Thanh and his family really care about their guests and do their best to make sure everyone I comfortable. DONT MISS FAMILY dinner, it is still the best meal I've had in all of Vietnam. Very reasonable pricing. We arrived around 630 am, were greeted with hot tea and breakfast and able to check in by 730 or 8 am. Yo...
We were downgraded to a room without balcony. The room was small and basic, but reasonably clean and with a warm shower. The staff were helpful and loaned us a kettle to make tea. Breakfast was simple but adequate. We stayed at two more comfortable, but cheaper hotels in Sapa.
I super like and missed the whole structure of Go Sapa Hotel! It's a great backpacker hostel to stay for days and nights. Staffs are so thoughtful allow and provide store room to baggage storage, shower for clean up for guest haven't check-in (as some backpacker arrived Sapa early in the morning, like 6AM, and the check-in time is 12PM). This is the big point I like Go...
We absolutely loved our time with Cuong and his family. Great value for money and you really get to experience family life in TaVan. Cuong was a great trekking guide. Would also recommend eating with the family for dinner as they will teach you how they cook as well!
The homestay lies directly at a river and very close to a waterfall, which is great for hiking. We only stayed two nights but wished to stay longer. We were five backpackers and the host, flower, was very nice and friendly. Her daughter was fun as well but to be honest the best thing were the 4 puppies of her two dogs. The food was also tasty, especially the breakfast ...
I booked a room with mountain view and the view is very nice. Even if I would go to a coffee shop nearby for similar view, it costs me about 4 dollar. For now, I paid to this hotel only 15usd, I got nice room with nice view and breakfast. The location of this hotel is very convenient to any place; Cat Cat Village, train station, restaurants, mall, a square (my baby dri...
Probably one of our favorites during our 2-week stay in Vietnam. Booked a superior twin room x 3 nights with a huge balcony and gorgeous mountain view for a friendly price – and it didn’t disappoint! For travelers on a budget, we found value in this wonderful hostel located near a quiet residential area near the lake. If you don’t mind walking a bit to get to and from ...
The owner speaks fluent French and english. I came at 6 am to the hotel and there he was greeted me, offered welcome drink, a clean towel, and told me to take shower first before checking in at 11 am. He also allowed me to put my bag first at the reception, because I got to go to fansipan straight away. His wife took me to the market for shopping and their daughter is ...
The location is amazing! It is quite far from the center of Sapa like 15/20 min walk up the hill, but we did not like Sapa Town, So for us this was fine. It is almost the last hostel down from the town And because of this it was quiet And peacefull with really the best amazing view you can have on the Sapa Valley 😍 the rooms are perfect very soft matrasses with heatin...
The hosts were very friendly and we almost felt we were at our home. Try not to miss their family dinner where you get acquainted with many nationals and an amazing dinner. On the downside, the road from SAPA to TaVan is under construction and quite bumpy. Overall, the stay was quite pleasant and memorable.
I stay with my friend Evonne on 1st of Nov 2018. We want to thank Ms. Moon for taking us to the train station when we lost our way. Without her, we would not have the chance to go up the cable car and see the amazing view at the top of the mountain. Also, we thank you very much for arranging a bus and train ticket when Vietjet rescheduled our flight so suddenly. ...
This homestay is not located directly in Sapa, but 10km far away. For us this has been a big plus, as you are directly in the nature, eat breakfast with a great view and there are not too many tourists. We spent two nights in a Standard double room. We have been welcomed warm and felt very comfortable all the time. We did two trekking tours with a local woman which ...
The staff are friendly and helpful. They always replied to my emails promptly. It's great value for money; especially as so many other hotels overcharge in Sapa. Our room was basic but comfortable and we had an amazing view of the mountains from our little private balcony. The bed wasn't uncomfortable, but wasn't the softest mattress we've slept on either. We had hot...
the huts were nice and felt exclusive but the cleanliness can improve. there were blobs of hair in the toilet which was not cleaned out and the bed sheets had stains and foul smell. we ordered dinner but it was basic and expensive. the included breakfast was also disappointing with a rock hard toast and a simple egg.
Zizi is so kind and welcoming. I had an amazing time here and was lucky to go to a wedding in the village where the locals gave us food and drink. This wouldn't have happened if I stayed in Sapa town. Have the family meal if you stay here- it was the best food I had in Vietnam. Highly recommend this homestay.
We were a little disappointed in this homestay. While we completely understand that it is not a hotel and that it would be simple, the kitchen, bathrooms, and our room could have been cleaner. There were dead bugs and old gum on our floor. While two of the women were so kind and welcoming, a couple of other women seemed annoyed we were there. Lastly, this is far more e...
This place is one of the most welcoming and friendly places I stayed at. The staff goes the extra mile to make you comfortable. I got a free upgrade to private room when it was free, got offered free tea when it was cold, and the hearth was lit when darkness fell. Breakfast is tasty and offers variety, and services such as scooter rental, laundry, tours, tickets and po...
The hotel on top of the rooms is amazing. Also has a rooftop patio to overlook Sapa. The staff was sooooo friendly, if anything I would recommend that hotel. Or if you can't afford that at least you get the best of both worlds. The hotel is Sapa Dragon. Did I mention how great the staff were ❤️ We were on a first name basis the whole time
The Hotel is in one of the most beautiful spots. The rooms face the Fansipan mountain. The owners haven't quite finished everything yet, but almost there, even so it didn't take anything away from this place. It's just out of SaPa itself but you have everything you need. Hue and her husband were most kind and obliging. They also have a lovely family. You'll feel at hom...
First thing I come to this place, i have good impression, the view from room and cafe was mesmerizing. I love to sit and seeing the view from the cafe accompanied by hot Vietnam coffee (must tried). We arrived Sapa early morning around 6.00 am by sleeping bus. Then we want put our luggage at Hostel before go to Fansipan and cat cat Village. The host was very understanding, he asked us to put our luggage at his room and asked us to shower 1st because the room we booked still no ready to check in. He also very helpful in helping us book a trek around the villages, ...

Overall stay is good. Our 1st time in Hanoi & Sapa. Big Deluxe room & well equipped facilities. D1 buffet breakfast was great but did not expect D2 breakfast to be alarte style & limited to 8 items only -can't imagined food restrictions on takers. I can't speak highly enough of this space. 1. The view is fantastic, we were traveling all around Sapa for a few days and were mesmerized, but we only realized that the best view was right in the room we booked! Couldn't focus on my books cause the view was THAT good 2. Location is spectacular: 40k from city center, walking distance to three (or four or five depending ...

We had one night stay only in U Sapa, but we already found this hotel is a MUST STAY in Sapa. It is worth the money to stay in this 5-star hotel. This is definitely unexpected! The room is so...
I really enjoyed my stay here! I didn't realize it wasn't in Sapa when I booked, but I was grateful for the remote setting in the end (not really that hard to get too, but takes about an hour to arrive at from Sapa where the bus will drop you). Sapa isn't such a pretty city anyway and I wouldn't have wanted to stay there anyways. The staff were wonderful and friendl...

Sapa is a lovely rural village with lots of ethnic minorities around. It was good to meet the women who hand craft all their products and the cable car is a must.
Rich in culture especially the villages with all the natives still living inside. There are still a lot of local festival celebrating during the festival seasons.
A very cold place to spend your vacation. The daily fog can really put you off in most cases, you cannot see more 50m in front of you.
Lao Chai Village and Te Van Village are 'must-see' attractions if one likes to explore and understand the life of villagers.
Figure out, right away, how to deal with the women on the street trying to sell you things. If you don't want a pack of them following you for four entire stay in Sapa, just say no.
We booked our train tickets, transfers and trekking with the Sapa Sisters - very well organised and helpful and efficient, highly recommended.
Need to join the local trekking tour to those villages. And need enjoying the local restaurants here.
Although I live in Viet Nam, this was my first visit to SaPa. The pace of life is much slower here, so for me, it was far more appealing than even the moderately sized cities elsewhere in this country.
Staying in Sapa, you should take the opportunity to trek and visit the villages. Walking there will be much for exciting them driving there because you would be able to witness the everyday lives of the villagers.
We booked a 3 day, 2 night trek with 'Sapa Sisters' and it is one of our highlights of Vietnam. The trek can be tailored to suit your level of fitness and what you want out of your stay.
Sapa is not easy to go unless you would like to spend at least $80 to get there by train and bus. It's cheaper to travel by overnight bus but you will ended up laying in the uncomfortable seat for 6-7 hours.
It is a great place to admire nature especially during trekking but the town area has become too touristy.
Sapa is the romantic place the weather very good but sometimes has many fog, and I recommend if you can ride the motorbike you should rent it around 4-6 $ per day then you can travel around Sapa but must be careful the road not safe.
We just fall in love with Sapa. If we are asked where we would go back to visit again, our first choice is definitely Sapa.
Sapa City is vibrant with alot with endless throngs of both tourists and locals, many are clad in traditional, colorful attires.
We stayed in Sapa for 5 nights/7 days and filled each day with still alot more we could do in the area.
Small town with the Sapa church as the main landscape. Full of ethnic minority groups who would sell you their wares.
Trekking shoes is must, be prepared for wet weather, one can rent bike at a very cheap daily rate of around US$5/-, great food as there are many choices of restaurants.
Sapa is an amazing city, full of life and ethnic cultures. The landscapes are incredible and the trekkings around Sapa are breath taking!! The only thing I didint like was how pushy the women were when they would sell to you, its like you were obligated to buy from them.
Its a very beautiful place , there are many sightseeing trips available with the locals as tour guide, very relaxing place to go to, will definitely return to SAPA again
Beautiful sceneries, interesting to move around the different tribes, some more demanding than others.
The transfer from Lao cai to sapa ruined the whole trip for me. I was wrongly sold a ticket by a tout which cost me 10x the usual price.
A trekers paradise if thats your thing. Be prepared to deal with the persistent locals trying to sell their wares.
I am feel happy to select your hotel for our trip. Everything is good. Staff was awesome. Good location.
Sapa is just the starting Point for trekking activities in the surrounding. You've missed to take Outdoor gear with you? Don't worry, you will find everything here!
Sapa is a great town! It was great to escape the hustle and bustle of HCMC for a week holiday! It's very foggy in march, but we still enjoyed our time.
Practically all the merchandise and fresh fruit are imported from China through Lao Cai which is near the border.
Worth the stay on the overnight train for the visit! Choose the less touristy trails to trek and you'll be amazed.
Visited in Late December, 2 days after snow fall. It was cold but there are plenty of places selling "Northface" jackets etc at low prices (~$25-$30).
Sapa has become quite a tourist trap. The food offerings are all the same and the prices quite high.
